Jumbo Plastic tries to sustain its winning run versus MP Hotel despite missing several key players today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
The Giants, who recently lost a fourth player to injury, gun for a fourth victory in five outings versus the MP Warriors at 2 p.m.
“He’s a big loss in our rotation,” said coach Stevenson Tiu after big man Maclean Sabellina fractured his index finger in the dying seconds of the Giants’ 81-65 drubbing of Wangs last Thursday.
“His absence will surely hurt our offense. Hopefully, the healthy ones will make up for his absence.”
The Giants had earlier lost key guard Brian Heruela, who was signed up by Blackwater in the PBA; shooter Janus Lozada, who sought release to play for another league; and forward Jan Colina (shoulder injury).
MJM M-Builders will also try to get by with a shortened roster in its 4 p.m. match against Bread Story.
The Builders go for back-to-back wins despite the absence of some varsity standouts, who will suit up for their school teams in another collegiate league.
