La Salle aims to keep its perfect run going even as San Beda tries to contain Jeron Teng and Ben Mbala at the start of the 2014 National Collegiate Championship series of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) today.
The Archers haven’t dropped a game since the Luzon-Metro Manila qualifiers, and they hope to keep it that way in their quest for back-to-back crowns in the nationwide tournament.
Game 1 of the best-of-three title series is set at 4 p.m. at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
“We have to work on our offense,” acting coach Adonis Tierra said of his Lions, who will try to avenge their Elite Eight loss to the Archers, 61-56.
“Last time, our offense was disorganized. So we have to talk about our game plan, especially against Teng.”
Teng drilled 20 points in the Archers’ nipping of the five-time NCAA champion Lions last week, while Mbala just came off his best outing yet of 20 points and 12 rebounds against UAAP runner-up Far Eastern University, 74-61.
