Gators crush Blue Sharks, take 1-0 lead
GATORS used a strong start to deflate defending champion Blue Sharks, 77-57, in Game 1 of the Filipino-Indian Basketball League (FIBL) Canadian Cup Wednesday night at Ynares Gym in Pasig.
The well-rested Gators raced to an early 19-4 first quarter lead and never looked back.
“Defense was the key and this is what coach Chito (Victolero) has been emphasizing to us,” said Gators assistant coach John Bernales, who subbed for Victolero.
