Ateneo continues unbeaten streak, clobbers FEU
MANILA, Philippines — They have been the personification of dominance so far.
Continuing their sheer perfection in the UAAP volleyball landscape, the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles rained down upon the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws 3-0, 25-15, 25-16, 25-17, during their first round matchup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum Saturday afternoon.

When FEU scored on back-to-back possessions to make it 19-13, Valdez took over with three of her team’s last six points including back-to-back kills in the final moments.
Jia Morado scored a service ace that finished off the Tamaraws to give her team a 3-0 win-loss record and an unprecedented nine-set win streak.

“What we trained for has been showing during our games and we are accomplishing what coach Tai wants in his game plans,” Valdez said.
“I’m really happy that we once again had a great performance during this game.”
Valdez was once again pushing her offense button as she scored 16 points with Be De Leon adding 10 points to the league-leading Ateneo.
Ella de Jesus almost joined the double-digit scorers’ club with nine points.
With their streak checked, Valdez hopes that their run of dominance would continue.
“I hope it lasts long, but it still depends because we can take a set or lose one,” Valdez said.
Not one Lady Tam scored in double-digit as their team fell to a .500 mark with a 1-1 slate.
Bernadeth Pons and Mary Palma led FEU with seven apiece.
