BOSTON — Gregg Popovich is back coaching the San Antonio Spurs after missing two games following an undisclosed minor medical procedure.

Popovich returned for Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics, the opener of a four-game road trip.

The Spurs won both games under assistant coach Ettore Messina, 106-100 over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night and 112-104 against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. That extended San Antonio’s winning streak to six games.

“I always enjoy coming to Boston,” Popovich said before Sunday’s game. “Always a good dinner the night before the game. I just wish we were staying after.”

The fiery Popovich says he watched games on television while he was away but didn’t yell at the screen.

“I’m a little more mature than that,” he said. “I save it for when I’m coaching.”
