Gems bank on La Salle’s Vosotros, Torres in win over Builders

MANILA, Philippines —Cebuana Lhuillier got back on track after a 87-72 win over MJM in the 2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

De La Salle’s Almond Vosotros and Norbert Torres led the Gems, who rose to 3-3 after losing to the league-leading Hapee Fresh Fighters last Thursday.

Vosotros scored a game-high 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field that went with three rebounds, three assists and three steals while Torres, the 6-foot-6 center, had 15 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks.

University of Santo Tomas forward Kevin Ferrer added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Gems.

Mac Belo knocked in 17 points but also needed 17 shots and only made seven for the Builders, who slipped to 1-5. MJM shot just 36% from the field.
