Randy Dilay came off the bench to spark a big offensive display in the second quarter that boosted the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns to a lopsided 120-77 win over the MP Hotel Warriors yesterday in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Rising Suns pulled away  on Dilay’s consecutive three-pointers and never looked back on their way to a fifth straight victory and a share of top spot with Hapee. The margin of victory was the biggest in league history.

Dilay, a 23-year-old shooting guard out of Dominican University in Chicago, swished three of his four triples in a span of four minutes. He tallied 12 points and was benched in the latter half after his heroics.

“That’s my job on this team. My teammates did a good job of finding me,” said Dilay. “Coach keeps pushing us. As long as we put in the hard work, the wins will keep on coming.”
