MANILA, Philippines — The PBA on Monday morning has cancelled its D-League games slated later in the day due to Typhoon “Ruby.”
“Kindly be advised that the PBA will have no office work today. D-League games today are likewise cancelled,” said Commissioner Chito Salud through the league’s official Twitter account.
The D-League tripleheader pitting the Bread Story-Lyceum Pirates against the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems at 12 noon, the Hapee Fresh Fighters against the Cafe France Bakersclash at 2 pm and the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns against the Racal Motors Alibaba at 4 pm at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig will be rescheduled to a later date.
Both the Fresh Fighters and the Rising Suns were supposed to stake their unbeaten records. Hapee and Cagayan are tied atop the standings with identical 5-0 slates.
The typhoon is expected to make its presence felt in Metro Manila on Monday.
The PBA had already postponed its out-of-town game between the Barako Bull Energy and the Purefoods Star Hotshots in Dipolog City last Saturday also due to the typhoon.
