MANILA, Philippines–Five-division boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. allegedly convinced an American rapper to leave his wife moments before the musician killed her and then himself, a report said.

American celebrity news and gossip website reported that rapper Earl Hayes talked to Mayweather through Facetime to air his frustration over his allegedly cheating wife, dancer Stephanie Moseley.

Mayweather reportedly advised him to leave his wife.

Hayes then went off Facetime and plotted to shoot his wife. Mayweather allegedly tried to stop Hayes from his plan but failed, the report stated.

Hayes gunned down Moseley with about 10 to 12 shots, after which he committed suicide by shooting himself, the report added.

Hayes used to be signed under Mayweather’s record label, while Moseley was a backup dancer for Chris Brown and Britney Spears.

The report said Mayweather may be reeling from the incident, still in shock from witnessing the murder-suicide.

Authorities will invite the undefeated world boxing champion for questioning for being a witness to the incident, the report said.

Meanwhile, after the tragic event was picked up by news agencies, an American rapper took to social media to convey his support for the boxer.

50Cent posted on his Instagram account his message to Mayweather whom he referred to as his “little brother.”

“RIP Hayes, @floydmayweather you are my little brother. All I can think about is what you said to me up stairs. Don’t you ever do nothing to your self no matter what champ. We can fall out or fight or what ever but I don’t want to see you go out like that,” the rapper said.

It was reposted by Mayweather on his Instagram account.

The boxer has not issued a statement to the media regarding the incident including up to what extent of the events has he seen.
