GT championship set Sunday

THE COUNTRY’S champion drivers return to Batangas for the 2014 Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring (GT) Car Championship sixth and final leg this Sunday at Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario.

Frontrunning Dondon Portugal, Mayor of Taysan in Batangas, hopes to wind up his bid for the Yokohama GT Driver of the Year plum with a bang as he eyes another sweep of the Sprint and GT Main race.

Portugal has the title in the bag following his sweep in the previous leg that raised his total to 263 points.

In the premier GT300 class, second-running Jomari Yllana gears for a showdown for second overall gainst Velli-Matti Kaikkonen, Jody Coseteng and  Willie Torres.
