ARELLANO University and College of St. Benilde routed their respective foes to snatch a share of the lead from three-peat champion San Beda in the 90th NCAA football competition at Rizal Memorial Stadium yesterday.

The Chiefs bamboozled the Perpetual Help Altas, 8-0, while the Blazers overwhelmed the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals, 5-0, to overtake the Lions from the top with 10 match points apiece.

Idle San Beda, seeking to extend its reign to a fourth season, fell from first to second with nine points to show after its Monday match with Lyceum was rescheduled to Dec. 18 due to Tropical Storm “Ruby.”

The Aries Caslib-mentored Lions though will have a chance to regain solo lead if they hurdle the Blazers on Friday.

Striker Roberto Corsame Jr. continued to impress as he scored a hat trick, including two in the first half when he helped Arellano break the match wide open with a 5-0 lead.
