JAN GODFREY Seno and Zethley Mae Alferez bagged two titles each to lead Cebu and Naga, respectively, in the recently-concluded Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championship held at Citigreen Tennis Resort and the Alta Vista Tennis Club in Cebu City.
Cebu’s Seno beat Christopher Encarnacion in both 16-under (6-2, 7-5) and 18-under (6-3, 6-0) finals of the event that lured 138 entries.
Alferez also bested Shynne Villareal twice—7-5 , 4-6, 11-9 in 16-U and 6-3, 7-5 in the 18-U contest.
Other leg winners in the girls’ side were Naga’s Lyra Mae Repollo, who downed Pherl Bless Coderos, 6-3 , 6-3, and Cebu’s Elizabeth Abarquez who took the 14-U crown at the expense of province mate Kristin Salimbangon.
Another Cebuano, Cesar Christopher Salimbangon, ruled the 10-U unisex group, beating Rupert Tortal of Surigao, 4-0, 4-2, while Venz Anton Alforque of Naga dominated Klein Canete, 6-1 , 6-1, for the 14-U crown.
Jose Maria Pague of Zamboanga Sibugay downed local bet Francis Hidalgo, 6-2 , 6-3, to cop the 12-U title.
