Adamson, NU spikers eye No. 3

ADAMSON University and National University shoot for victory No. 3 in the final UAAP Season 77 women’s volleyball tournament playdate for the year when they tackle separate opponents today at Filoil Flying V Arena.

The Lady Falcons battle struggling University of Santo Tomas in the first game at 2 p.m., while the Lady Bulldogs play Far Eastern University at 4 p.m.

In the men’s division, Adamson and De La Salle collide at 10 a.m., right after old rivals UST and FEU take on the floor at 8.

With La Salle and defending champion Ateneo pulling away with their 5-0 and 4-0 slates, respectively, trying to remain at the upper half of the standings is on the minds of Adamson and NU, both sporting 2-2 cards.

With Mylene Paat now at home with her new position as open spiker and Amanda Villanueva and Jessica Galanza playing above expectations, the Lady Falcons are looking good for a return stint to the Final Four.

Adamson has won its last two outings, including a 25-19, 27-25, 25-13 victory over the Lady Tamaraws last Sunday, and have moved up from a 0-2 start.

The Tigresses have been mired at seventh place. After winning the season opener against University of the East, UST lost three straight.
