For Floyd Jr., a go–ho-hum–means no-go

In fact, major bookmakers as of yesterday have concluded that Mayweather’s brash go meant a no-go.
There was a keen observation that Mayweather made the empty statement in order to show that he was not in the business of cowardice, as widely believed.
He, in fact, took the occasion to throw the blame for the repeated failure to stage the dream fight on Pacquiao and the grizzled promoter Bob Arum.
Yes, Mayweather sounded out his taunt for a May 2 bout on Showtime.
But yesterday, there was a report the dream bout could not in any way be held on that date.
Reason: A major fight between Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez is scheduled on that very same date.

There was also a suspicion Mayweather tried to muddle up the boxing scene in order to avoid being pressed about his role in the murder-suicide involving his rapper friend and a dancer-actress.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao next dared Mayweather to start serious negotiations before signing the contract. Pacquiao also announced Floyd Jr. would have nowhere to run to this time.
However, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson said he was not taking Mayweather’s latest statement seriously.
Singson said he has known Mayweather long enough and was sure the unbeaten American boxing champion, disliked in his homeland, was not being honest when he dared Pacquiao.
Wake up and please stop the dreaming for now.
