Kia eyes giant Puerto Rican as Commissioner’s Cup import
MANILA, Philippines—The league’s little guys are expected to get a massive boost.
After the Kia Sorento became the victims of PBA bully ball, the newcomers are expected to sign one big guy from South America.
Article continues after this advertisementIn a Spin.ph report, Kia Sorento and head coach Manny Pacquiao, would hire 7-foot-3 Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos.
Kia team manager Eric Pineda told Spin.ph that Pacquiao gave his blessing to sign Ramos.
“What coach Manny wants is someone who can block some shots,” Pineda said.
Article continues after this advertisementKia’s current roster has two players reaching the 6-foot-6, Kyle Pascual and Mike Burtscher but their frontline has been prone to the abuse of the physical PBA.
Ramos’ most recent national tiff was with the 2010 Puerto Rican team at the Fiba World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey where he averaged 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
