MANILA, Philippines–After bowing out early in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup, the Philippines dove slightly in the Fifa rankings as well.
The Azkals are now in the 130th spot of the Fifa rankings, two spots lower from their 128th spot before the AFF Suzuki Cup.
After holding Thailand to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup semifinals at the Rizal Stadium, the Philippines were thwarted 0-3 on the second leg in Thailand.
Despite the slip, the Philippines is still the top-ranked Southeast Asian nation.
Thailand, which defeated the Philippines to reach the AFF Suzuki Cup Finals, is in 142nd spot while co-finalist Malaysia is in 154th.
Vietnam, which also defeated the Philippines in the AFF Suzuki Cup, is in 137th.
