Sang, Lapus rule Chair’s Cup
PAUL Sang and Bing Lapus clinched overall low gross and low net crowns, respectively, in the Manila Southwoods’ Chairman’s Charity Cup at Southwoods in Carmona, Cavite recently.
Sang, a 2-handicapper, carded a one-over par 73 to pocket the overall low gross title while Lapus, a 17-handicapper, fired a four-over 76 for the overall net plum at 59 in the 18-hole tournament held in honor of club chair Bob Sobrepeña.
Theody Pascual shot a gross 74 for a net 69 worth 39 points under the Modified Stableford scoring system as he nipped Danny Samaniego, who had 38 points from a gross 81, for the Division I crown.
Article continues after this advertisementRusty Bayani took the Division 2 crown with 43 points from a gross 79 while Christian Calso and Harry Gonzalez fired 40 and 36 points from grosses of 87 and 102 to annex the Division 3 and 4 titles, respectively.
Other winners were Mentz Deguito (Senior division I), Bernie Bernardo (Senior division II), Yeon Hee Pak (Ladies I), Marilyn Ty (Ladies II) and Toto Pelor (Guest division).
