MANILA, Philippines – MJM leaned on a hot start to handily beat Wangs Basketball, 79-64, in the 2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at the Marikina Sports Complex.

The M-Builders zoomed to a 17-3 lead and a 28-16 buffer at the end of the first quarter, where they shot 59% from the field.

The Couriers battled back in the third quarter but a 59-52 deficit is the closest they got.

Mike Tolomia scored 15 points and Carl Cruz added 10 points for MJM, which notched just its second win in eight games.

Eric Gonzales called the shots for the M-Builders, who snapped a three-game skid, in the absence of head coach Nash Racela. Racela is with the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters as the team prepares for Game 3 of their semifinals series with the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA.
