End of volleyball leadership dispute within sight?
THE END of the leadership crisis hounding the Philippine Volleyball Federation is within sight after leaders and stakeholders met recently to renew their vow of unity and cooperation.
PVF chair Edgardo “Boy” Cantada said the development signals the start of a renewed campaign to improve the state of the sport in the country.
“We in the Philippine Volleyball Federation are looking at a robust 2015 as well as the years beyond,” said Cantada.
Article continues after this advertisementThe leadership crisis within the PVF started when the group of president on-leave Gener Dungo questioned the authority of interim president Karl Chan to assemble a national team, prompting the Philippine Olympic Committee to step in upon the request of the Asian Volleyball Confederation.
Chan’s position as PVF president was likewise affirmed during the meeting.
Cantada said the PVF will unveil a rejuvenated program that includes making the Cantada Sports Center, which his family owns, as the home of the national teams and venue of training and grassroots development programs.
