TOP seed Gaby Zoleta topped the girls’ 12-under division even as John Bryan Otico and John Michael Belo both secured finals slots in two age brackets yesterday in the 26th Andrada Cup age-group tennis championships at Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
Zoleta, an 11-year-old niece of former national team stalwarts Bien and Bambi Zoleta, routed second seed Macie Carlos, 6-0, 6-1.
Otico reached the finals of the boys’ 18- and 16-under and Belo duplicated that feat in the 10-under unisex and boys’ 12-under of this tournament named after sports commissioner Buddy Andrada, a former Philippine Tennis Association president.
Otico reached the centerpiece 18-under finals after beating Cenon Gonzales Jr., 6-4, 3-6, 6-0. He next faces Chris Justin Prulla, who downed Jerome Silva, 7-5, 6-4.
Otico gained the 16-under final with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Justin Suarez. He will dispute the title against Gonzales, who ousted Jerome Romualdez, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
Belo made the 12-under finals with a 6-1, 4-6, (10-8) win over Rafael Liangco. He next battles top seed Miguel Luis Vicencio, who drubbed Marc Andrei Jarata, 6-0, 6-3.
Jarata will be Belo’s title foe in the 10-under unisex where he scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Prince Patrick Salvacion. Jarata advanced with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Riley Matheu Banaad.
