MANILA, Philippines – A person belonging in the inner circle of undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather said on Wednesday that the details of the highly anticipated May 2 mega-fight with eight division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao are being ironed out.
“They’re putting it together now,” Sam Watson, long-time confidant of Mayweather’s adviser Al Haymon, said.
“They’re going to do a Showtime-HBO [joint pay-per-view] like they did last time with Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson. They’re working on the monies now and everything they’ve got to work on to make it happen. I can’t wait. It’s going to be huge,” he told British newspaper The Guardian.
The admission from Mayweather’s camp came after Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum confirmed that the Filipino boxing champion has agreed to the terms of the fight.

However, Arum remains tightlipped on the details of the fight, including the money split between the two prized fighters.
“I want to get some movement here, with bringing Mayweather to the table so we can go out and get everything signed and get the networks together and get the thing finished,” Arum told Yahoo Sports.
The Top Rank CEO said that they are now waiting for Mayweather to personally be on board with the negotiations.
“The people we have talked to on Mayweather’s side have agreed to everything. Now we need Mayweather to step up and say, ‘Yeah, I’m on board. I agree’,” Arum added.
“I think Manny has been very reasonable and demonstrated that he wants the fight to happen. Now, we’re waiting on Floyd. That’s not to say that Floyd has been obstinate, that Floyd won’t do it, but we’re waiting on him,” he said.
