So seeking first win over Vachier-Lagrieve

Wesley So was trying to exact revenge over Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrieve in the ninth round of the all-Grandmaster Tata Steel Masters on Tuesday night in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands. Both So and Vachier-Lagrieve have 5.5 points and trailed Norwegian world champion Magnus Carlsen, who was tangling with Azerbaijan’s Teimour Radjabov, by half a point. Vachier-Lagrieve boasts a win and three draws against So in their head-to-head duels.
