MANILA, Philippines — A confident Manny Pacquiao believes he can do what every boxer who had faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. couldn’t.

Pacquiao said he believes he can “easily beat” the undefeated Mayweather, who has won 47 fights, 27 of which came by knockout.

“I can easily beat @FloydMayweather, I believe that,” boxing’s only eight-division champion posted on his Twitter account early Wednesday morning. The tweet has been retweeted for over 75,000 and “favorited” for close to 50,000 times since posting.

Pacquiao is in Los Angeles to promote his 88-minute documentary “Manny.”

Pacquiao also said he was he was a “big underdog” when he went against Oscar dela Hoya in 2008. He won after dela Hoya, who took the worst beating of his celebrated career at his hands, couldn’t continue after the eighth round.

And if the long-awaited showdown between him and Mayweather pushes through, Pacquiao declared that it would be an “even bigger upset” will transpire.

Pacquiao had confirmed that he had already “agreed to terms” for a May 2 megafight with Mayweather. And as far as the Filipino ring legend is concerned, the only thing that’s keeping the deal from materializing is that the pound-for-pound king Mayweather has yet to sign on a contract.

“If you really care about the fans, you will fight. If you care about yourself… you won’t fight,” Pacquiao wrote on Twitter, apparently referring to Mayweather.
