Samboy Lim back home, elated over child’s tests
MANILA, Philippines—Avelino “Samboy” Lim is back home and is returning to jubilant form after falling into a two-month comatose.
Lim was back at his home on January 14 after collapsing in a basketball game on November 28 and staying in Medical City for the duration of his recovery.
Article continues after this advertisementDarlene “Lelen” Berberabe, the estranged wife of the basketball legend, posted in Facebook using Lim’s account that Samboy, also known as “Skywalker”, was allowed to return home after his doctors approved of the set-up facilities.
“Doctors approved the hospital that we set up for him, with all the medical equipment and supplies for Sam, round-the-clock nurse care and daily physical therapy program,” Berberabe said.
According to reports, Lim smiled when informed that his daughter with Berberabe passed three examinations in school.

“It was the first time we saw him smile because he still can’t speak,” Berberabe said. “He cried for a long time, around 15 minutes, and with that me and my kids also cried.”
