Makati GC posts twin wins
MAKATI Gospel Church-New Life Christian Academy won two games last week to close in on leader Saint Jude Catholic School in the 2nd Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association (PCYAA) basketball tournament at Uno High School Gym in Tondo, Manila.
With Sean Tan, Carl Ong and Aaron Uy coming through with yet stellar performances anew, Makati Gospel Church outlasted Saint Peter the Apostle School, 66-53, on Saturday for its fourth win in five games.
Ong posted a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds while Tan and Uy chipped in 19 and 11 points, respectively, and combined for 19 boards.
Article continues after this advertisementThe win was a fitting sequel to its 60-37 drubbing of winless Grace Christian College last Saturday.
Earlier Saturday, Jubilee Christian Academy scored its second win in three starts by downing Philippine Cultural College, 57-50, as Paolo Lim fired 18 points and John Cheng added 15 and Lance Tan 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Defending champion Uno High School drew 24 points and 20 boards from Christian Tan and picked up its third win with a 59-53 win over Pace Academy.

The top four teams after the elimination phase will enter the quarterfinal playoffs.
