Lady Eagles, Eaglets still unbeaten
ATENEO dominated two UAAP events yesterday with the Lady Eagles staying unbeaten in 10 games in women’s volleyball and the Blue Eaglets completing a 14-0 elimination sweep of juniors basketball.
The Lady Eagles turned back University of the Philippines in straight sets, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18, to secure at least a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.
Alyssa Valdez, the leading MVP contender, again presided over the Lady Eagles’ attack by firing 16 spikes and three service aces in a 20-point performance against the Lady Maroons at Filoil Flying V Arena.

La Salle stayed a close second at 9-1 after tripping tough National University, 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 27-25, as Mika Reyes and Ara Galang combined for 29 points.
The Blue Eaglets, meanwhile, accomplished their sweep bid in the eliminations with a 76-49 drubbing of the defending champion National University Bullpups at Blue Eagle Gym.

The Baby Falcons capped its elimination run with a 76-67 triumph over UST.
