MANILA, Philippines – Joining the packed race for the Final Four is the Adamson University Lady Falcons as they made quick work of the winless University of the East Lady Warriors 3-0, 25-15, 25-22, 25-18, in their UAAP Season 77 Volleyball Tournament outing at Arena in San Juan Sunday afternoon.
Faye Guevara really wanted to end the match early as her quick attack immediately found an open space in the UE side.
Apart from extending the Lady Warriors’ sorry streak to 10, the Lady Falcons also snapped their four-game losing streak.
Adamson head coach Sherwin Meneses hopes that their win against the eighth place UE could be start of something positive for the team.
“I have the fullest trust in my team and I hope that we can start a new streak, a win streak,” Meneses said as his Lady Falcons joined National University and the University of the Philippines at fourth seed.
“There’s still a big chance that we can get to the Final Four. I hope our win streak starts,” Meneses added.
Adamson fell behind 14-16 in the start of the fourth set but cruised to the matchpoint with a 10-1 sprint to notch the scoreboards at 24-17.
Amanda Villanueva came up big for Adamson with 14 points while Mylene Paat and Jessica Galanza each added 11
Shaya Adorador led UE with 12.
