MANILA, Philippines — Filipino-American National Football League (NFL) player Doug Baldwin Jr. of the Seattle Seahawks scored a touchdown in the second half of the Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots on Monday (Manila time).
Baldwin, whose mother is from Tacloban, received the touchdown pass that gave the Seahawks a 24-14 lead from Russell Wilson.
But the 26-year-old Baldwin’s touchdown celebration, in which he pretended to defecate on the football, cost the Seahawks a 15-yard penalty.
The Seahawks, though, failed in their bid to win a second consecutive Super Bowl after Tom Brady rallied the Patriots to a thrilling 28-24 win.
