Prima Pasta badminton up
MORE than 1500 participants are expected to compete in the eighth edition of the Prima Pasta Badminton Championships, which is set on Feb. 28, March 1, 6, 7 and 8 at Powersmash Badminton Courts in Pasong Tamo, Makati City.
Due to the huge number of participants, Prima Pasta Badminton Championship organizing committee chair Alexander Lim has decided to extend the play dates from four to five in different places.
“We’re extending the play dates because of the growing number of participants each year and every year the competition is becoming more competitive,” said Lim.
Article continues after this advertisementIn partnership with the Philippine Badminton Association , the annual event is part of the Philippine National Ranking System (PNRS), wherein aspirants in the Open Division will be able to earn points that will be the basis for their position in the national ranking.
The tournament, sponsored by Babolat and Smart Communications through MVP Sports Foundation, will include these events: men’s doubles and mixed doubles from open class, to levels A to G, while open class and levels B to F will be available in the women’s doubles.
The event is also supported by Boysen Paints, Morning Star Milling Corporation., Mabz Builders, ILO Construction, Monolith Construction, Monocrete Construction, Pioneer Insurance, Promax International, Regent Foods Corp., and RFM Corp. and organized by Forthright Events.
