Another dragon boat team nets Singapore gold

Another Filipino Dragon Boat team made waves in international waters recently.

The PDRT Fireblades, an all-men squad, captured the gold medal in the 250-meter freestyle event in the 7th Sava Sprint International Dragonboat Race in Singapore recently.

The Fireblades also placed 11th out of 30 teams in the Premier Mixed Plate.

Meanwhile, three female members of the Cobra Philippine Dragon Boat Federation team powered the Triton team to two bronze medal finishes in the 250-meter Premier Women’s and International Freestyle events.

Maria Theresa Realizan, Amina Annudin and Michelle Ebio—members of the PDBF Dragon Warriors that won five golds and two silvers in the 10th World Championships in Tampa Bay, Florida—saw action in the event.

The Cebu Dragons won a silver in International Freestyle and came in fourth in the Premier Open Minor Finals.

The competition featured top clubs in the region.
