MANILA, Philippines — Josh Davis hit a tough shot at the buzzer and Meralco survived Globalport, 86-84, in the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“It surprised me, he (Davis) told me during the timeout ‘coach run the play through me because I’m going to make the shot,'” said Meralco head coach Norman Black on the last timeout with 3.2 seconds left. “He’s proving to be a very very good import for us. Not just very good but a clutch player as well.”

Davis finished with 33 points and 24 rebounds for the Bolts, who improved to a league-best 5-0 record.

Batang Pier swingman Ronjay Buenafe tied the game at 84 on a 3-pointer off the inbound with 3.2 ticks remaining. Globalport fell to 2-3.
