PSA honors top athletes of 2014 tonight
Incheon Asian Games cycling gold medalist Daniel Caluag heads the honor roll as the Philippine Sportswriters Association pays tribute to the top achievers of 2014 tonight in its Annual Awards Night co-presented by Milo and San Miguel Corp. at 1Esplanade at Mall of Asia complex in Pasay.
The 27-year-old Caluag is arriving from the United States early today to receive the Athlete of the Year honor from Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr., Philippine Sports Commission chair Richie Garcia and PSA president Jun Lomibao of Business Mirror.
Garcia will key-note the two-hour rite.
Article continues after this advertisementVeteran sports-casters Quinito Henson and Patricia Hizon will host the show that will feature a performance by the champion National U Pep Squad.
Several teams and entities will also be honored in the gala event which has Smart, MVP Sports Foundation, and Meralco as principal sponsors and the PSC as major sponsor, with nine recipients of Special Awards.
The affair is also backed by the PBA, Maynilad, Accel, Rain or Shine, ICTSI, PCSO, Pagcor, El Jose Catering, National University, Globalport, Air21 and 1Esplanade.
