MANILA, Philippines – Welterweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao said he is willing to pay a $5 million fine if he fails the drug test for the anticipated bout with flamboyant American boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Making a rare appearance in the House of Representatives on Monday, the boxing champion cum Sarangani congressman said he was the one who proposed that provision in the fight contract with Mayweather.

Ako ang nagpa-insert nun,” he said.

The highly anticipated fight with Mayweather was scuttled five years ago due to conflicting demands on the drug test. Mayweather even accused Pacquiao of using performance enhancement drugs.

Pressed to confirm reports that the Mayweather fight is already a go, Pacquiao said the contract is “almost” finished.
