The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) and the Iloilo City government have announced the staging of the 2015 Asia-Pacific Taekwondo Invitational Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1 at SM City Iloilo.
The PTA and Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog recently signed an agreement for the staging of the prestigious event sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation.
Nine countries, led by host Philippines, will vie for honors in the two-day event. The other countries are Korea, the United States of America, Guam, Japan, Mongolia, Vietnam.
PTA officer in charge Hong Sung-chon said the event is a “good opportunity for our athletes to display their skills and widen their experience.”
The Philippines has already formed its team for the competition which is supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, the Iloilo City government, Smart, SM and Milo.
