UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and Adamson stayed in the running for the last semifinal berth after dispatching separate foes in the UAAP women’s volleyball yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena.
The Tigresses cruised past winless University of the East, 25-10, 25-22, 25-11, while the Lady Tamaraws also turned back Adamson in straight sets, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.
“We are trying to get to the semifinals the hard way,” said UST coach Odjie Mamon.
Both The Tigresses and the Lady Tamaraws wrapped up their elimination bids at 6-8, but University of the Philippines may still forge a three-way tie at fourth if it wins versus National U at 4 p.m. today. In case of a three-way tie, the team with the superior quotient will take on the winner of the knockout battle between the two other teams.
