MANILA, Philippines – The megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is touted as the richest in boxing history, so it would not be a surprise if a ticket would cost a fortune.
Ticket prices have not been announced but ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael said the cheapest ticket could be around $1,000 (P44,290 at P44.29 = $1) and the most expensive about $5,000 (P221,454.91).
Aside from being pricey, tickets are expected to be hard to come by for the public.
“However, with such heavy demand for tickets from the promoters, networks and casino (which all have to pay for tickets), it is doubtful more than a few hundred, maybe 1,000 tickets will be offered for public sale. If there is a public sale, no date has been announced,” Rafael wrote.
Fans who think watching live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena cost so much and have decided to just enjoy the long-awaited bout at the comforts of their homes, pay-per-view is expected to be at $100 each, as per cbssports.com.
Mayweather-Pacquiao is expected to generate around four million buys in PPV nearly double than the $2.4 million in 2007 when Mayweather fought Oscar dela Hoya.
