As a sendoff for the eight-division champion, the PBA opened the bleachers section for the first 2,000 people at the San Juan Arena for the tiff between Pacquiao’s Kia Carnival and the Blackwater Elite.

A security personnel at the Arena said there have been quite a number of people lined up as early as 2 p.m. for the free tickets.

“We’re here to see Manny. We came here early to make sure we’re able to get in,” said a man, who requested anonymity, in Filipino.

He brought his 8-year-old son, whom he said is a bigger fan of Pacquiao than he is.

Pacquiao is expected to play for the fifth time as Kia’s playing-coach. The Carnival are primed to beat the struggling Elite having taken down powerhouse teams in their three wins. Kia has toppled Philippine Cup champion San Miguel, defending Commissioner’s Cup champion Purefoods and consistent title contender Talk ‘N Text on Wednesday.

The Elite on the other hand, have dropped their third straight game since their breakthrough win over the Beermen on Feb. 11.
