MANILA, Philippines—The mother of Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, Dionisia, was in attendance during the Kia Carnival and Blackwater Elite tiff on Saturday at the San Juan Arena.

The 65-year-old Dionisia, fondly called Mommy D, said it’s her first time to catch Kia, where her son is the team’s playing coach, live in action.

“Excited talaga pero parang kinakabahan ako lamang ng 14 (I’m really excited but I’m a bit nervous [Blackwater] is ahead by 14),” an ecstatic Dionisia said during halftime. “Pero mahahabol pa yan katulad nung nakita ko sa TV nahabol pa nila (But they’ll catch up just like their game that I saw on TV).”

She may be referring to Kia’s game on Wednesday where the Carnival climbed back from a 17-point hole to stun the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.

Dionisia, who was flocked by fans for a quick photo during the 15-minute halftime break, also said she is “proud” of what Kia has been able to accomplish so far this conference.

Masaya ako sa Kia (I’m happy for Kia). Proud ako talaga (I’m really proud).”

As for Pacquiao’s May 2 clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Dionesia won’t offer any predictions.

Si Mayweather may 47 win, sa ring na lang natin tignan (Mayweather has 47 wins. Let’s watch the fight in the ring).”
