NBA: Garnett treats T-Wolves fans to tickets

MINNEAPOLIS, United States – NBA veteran Kevin Garnett wants to pay fans back for the warm welcome he’s received upon returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves, so he’s giving away 1,000 tickets to Monday’s game.
Garnett bought the tickets to the home game against the Los Angeles Clippers, and the team said that the first 500 fans to claim them via the club’s website on Monday morning would receive two tickets apiece.
“The response and support I’ve received from Wolves fans since my return to Minnesota has been nothing short of amazing,” Garnett said in a statement on the team’s website. “It’s been unbelievable.
“As a gesture of thanks, I would like to treat some fans to Monday night’s game against the Clippers. Love you all, and thanks for the love. Enjoy the game on me.”
Garnett, 38, was reacquired by the Timberwolves from the Brooklyn Nets, returning to the team where he made his name but departed in frustration in 2007.
He went on to become an NBA champion with Boston, but said in returning to Minnesota he hoped that in the “declining days” of his playing career he could contribute to a young Timberwolves team.
Garnett received a rapturous welcome in his first game back on Wednesday, a 97-77 win over Washington.
He was feted with a pre-game video tribute and received a standing ovation from fans.
