Chieffy is chief trainer of football program

MANILA, Philippines—Philippine football gets a big boost at the grassroots level with the launch this weekend of the “Football For A Better Life 2015” backed by PRU Life UK in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, with former Azkal Chieffy Caligdong handling the program.

Caligdong, together with the program’s development director, Chris Thomas, will hold a series of free football clinics and tournaments in 10 key areas from March to November this year.

Apart from Barotac Nuevo, the perennial hotbed of local football, the other venues are San fernando City in Pampanga, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Jamindan, Capiz City, Dumaguete, Baguio, Palawan, Tagum, Davao del Norte, Legaspi City and National Capital Region.

“Pru Life UK is committed to supporting football in the Philippines,” said Belle Tongco, the company’s chief marketing officer.
