Corp Cup golf gets going at John Hay
MANILA, Philippines—Seventy of the country’s top golfing firms and corporations, led by defending seniors champion Pugo Adventure 1, will slug it out for top honors in the Camp John Hay 27th Corporate Cup starting Tuesday at CJH Golf Club in Baguio City.
Behind Goody Ignacio, Fred Puckett and Ed Montenegro, Pugo Adventure 1 pooled a 156 for a 314 and won by 14 over former champion Megafiber last year.
Also out to defend their respective titles in the four-to-play, three-to-count format event are KT Glass, Isabela Golf Club and Camp John Hay Golf Club.
Article continues after this advertisementKT Glass dominated Division III last year over AMSI-Shakey’s Calamba and Starflex Wires and Cables while Isabela GC routed sister teams ABGC1 and ABGC2 to capture the Division I title.
The host club bets are expected to display their familiarity with the up-and-down par-69 layout as they fuel their title-retention bid in Division II.
The annual event, to be played under the Molave scoring system, features the nation’s top corporations in a friendly competition while networking with other prominent businessmen and influential entrepreneurs.
