Pacquiao fan Urijah Faber says Manny has to ‘go for broke’ against Mayweather

MANILA, Philippines — UFC contender Urijah Faber will be rooting for Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao against top pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their May 2 megafight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Like UFC female star Ronda Rousey, Faber is on Pacquiao’s side and he believes that the Filipino boxer should go all out to become the first man to take down the undefeated Mayweather.

“One of the things that I’ve always loved about Pacquiao and I think has made him such a fan-favorite and such a successful guy is first off he’s dangerous and he lays it all on the line,” said Faber, whose fight with Frankie Edgar is the main event of the first ever UFC Fight Night in Manila on May 16.

“For him to fight Mayweather, he’s not going to win a cautious fight against him. He’s gonna turn it into a brawl and use his speed and his power and if I were to give him advice, that would be it – go for broke,” added Faber.

Faber is in the country on Tuesday for the On-Sale press conference of his fight with former UFC lightweight champion Edgar.
