KeraMix routs MP Hotel to open PBA D-League campaign

MANILA, Philippines—Taking some sweet retribution, KeraMix one-upped MP Hotel-Letran 87-60 to start their PBA D-League Second Conference campaign Thursday afternoon at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

It was a delectable victory for Mixers head coach Caloy Garcia who coached Letran for two years, leading them to a runner up finish in Season 89 of the NCAA.

KeraMix was scalding hot from the opening tip as they went on a 23-6 first quarter and never looked back.

“Our defense in the first half was critical and that’s why we got a big lead,” Garcia said.

Garcia distanced away from any Letran issue saying that they just had to win the game and run their offense.

“We didn’t want to talk about the Letran thing,” Garcia said. “We told the team that we just want to run against them because we’re very small.”

Jeff Viernes led keraMix with 20 points while teammate Raymond Jamito put up a 14-point 11-rebound double-double.

Michael DiGregorio had 14 points, all in the third quarter, while Jiovanni Jalalon left his fingerprint all across the floor with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals for KeraMix.
