Meralco’s Hugnatan delivers another career performance against Barako

MANILA, Philippines—For Reynel Hugnatan, the sight of Barako Bull gives him a little more voltage.

That, or he just scores a lot against them.

Hugnatan tallied 21 points, a conference-high, against Barako Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum during their 98-85 win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“It just happened, my shots were falling and it happened that I played well,” Hugnatan said.

His career-high, 28 points in the 2014-2015 Philippine Cup.

Who did he play against? You guessed it.

Barako Bull.

Hugnatan said his life was made easier with the defense collapsing on import Josh Davis, who fended off the Energy for 32 points and 19 rebounds.

“They were leaving me on defense and I just went and shoot it,” said the multiple-time All Star. “The All Star Game was a big part in this.”
