ATLANTA, United States – Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver, the NBA’s most accurate 3-point shooter, has a broken nose and will miss at least the team’s Monday game against Sacramento.
The 33-year-old American suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s 91-86 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. No timetable for his return has yet been set.
The sharpshooter is averaging 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 64 games this season and his accuracy rate is an NBA-best 50.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.
He led the NBA last season with a 47.2 percent accuracy rate from beyond the arc.
Korver, an NBA All-Star this year for the first time, set an NBA record with 127 consecutive games with a 3-point basket. he also owns the single-season record for 3-point shooting accuracy at 53.6 percent with Utah in 2009-10.
At 52-14, the Hawks have the best record in the Eastern Conference and are hot on the heels of the Golden State Warriors (52-13) for the best record in the NBA.
