UST, NU batters collide in KO game

University of Santo Tomas and National University collide at the start of the stepladder semifinals where three teams are disputing the right to face Adamson in the championship round of the UAAP softball tournament.

The Tigresses and the Lady Bulldogs, both fresh off playoff matches, tangle in a do-or-die contest at 9 a.m. today at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The winner will advance against University of the Philippines, the No. 2 squad toting a twice-to-beat semifinal bonus.

Adamson—the four-time champion which stretched its unbeaten run since 2011 to 60 games—clinched an outright title berth after completing a 12-game elimination sweep.

The phenomenal Lady Falcons also hold a thrice-to-beat edge, an incentive equivalent to a 1-0 advantage in a best-of-five series.

UP secured the second seed after the Lady Maroons overpowered the Tigresses, 7-4, in a playoff last Sunday. Jasmine W. Payo
