MANILA, Philippines—Arwind Santos’ mother was rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening in the third quarter of PBA’s game between San Miguel and Talk N’ Text.

Arceli Santos, an asthmatic, suffered from a bleeding nose as the Texters lead Santos and Beermen, 76-58.

Arwind’s wife Ivette said it was the first time that Arceli suffered from a bleeding nose.

Ivette added that Arceli hyperventilates when she is stressed out but has not experienced nose bleeds in the past.

“I think the game, the tension, her own fatigue contributed to that,” Ivette said.

Arceli, Ivette said, does not have a history of high blood.

An on-standby ambulance rushed Arceli to World City Medical Center in Cubao.

Arwind has left the game with team manager Gee Abadilla to tend to his mother.
