MANILA, Philippines-Who says Floyd Mayweather Jr. is boxing’s biggest heel?

Not these two Filipinos on Mayweather’s The Money Team.

“He’s so misunderstood,” Mayweather’s “video guy” James Dayap told Steve Angeles of ABS-CBN News North America. “The Floyd Mayweather that I know, if you know Floyd, truly know him, you’ll love him. He’s a good guy, like his heart is pure. When he gives, he thinks about your family.”

And if there’s a person who can prove that, it’s Dayap.

Before joining Mayweather and The Money Team, Dayap was Manny Pacquiao’s cameraman.

Dayap formed a friendship with Pacquiao’s former strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza and when the American became part of The Money Team, Dayap went along.

Another Filipino has been doing some work for The Money Team. She’s Marikit or “Kitchie.”

Kitchie is Mayweather’s assistant and takes care of their marketing and publicity.

She basically handles every of the boxer’s needs in-and-out of the ring.

Kitchie said in the same interview that she met Mayweather by chance and before she knew it she was tagging along with him and became a Mayweather employee.

“We were keeping in touch, and the next thing you know, I was around him. He was like, ‘would you like to work for me as an assistant?’ I thought he was joking, but I took the chance,” she said.

Just like Dayap, Kitchie said that Mayweather is one kind person, even liking him to Oprah.

“He’s very giving,” Kitchie said.

“He’s a warm-hearted guy,” he added. “When we see someone homeless or helpless on the street, he’ll pull out a couple hundred dollars, not just a couple dollars. He tips very well when we go out to eat. He got me a house – me and Alex Ariza. He got me a car.”
