Tugade bags 2 crowns anew

VINCE Tugade matched his first leg feat by clinching two titles in the second leg of Globe 17th Head Graphene XT Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit yesterday.

Tugade, who won the boys’ 16 and 14-under singles title in Davao City first leg a week ago, beat Klyde Lagarde in the finals, 6-1, 6-2, for the boys’ 16-U trophy at Capitol Tennis Courts of the Isulan Governor’s Palace in Isulan Sultan Kudarat.

Tugade also defeated Lagarde in the finals of boys’ 14-U, 7-5, 6-4, to bag his fourth crown in the annual age-group event sanctioned by the Philippine Tennis Association and organized by  Dynamics Sports.

Patricia Velez likewise took two crowns, besting Yzyl Domingo in the girls’ 18-U singles finals, 6-0, 6-2, and Joyce Sapitanan in the last round of girls’ 16-U, 6-0, 6-0.

The tournament supported by Chris Sports, Head ATP Tennis Balls, Graphene XT, Toalson, Philippine Sports Commission and Philta also saw Jarrel Edanga trip Christian Villarin, 6-3, 6-4, for the boys’ 18-U crown.
