DINDIN Manabat brought out her A-game as Petron crushed Philips Gold, 25-16, 25-18, 25-23, last night even as Foton routed Cignal, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23, at the start of the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference at Mall of Asia Arena.
Manabat acted as the leader of a team already brimming with stars, firing 13 points—10 on spikes—as the Blaze Spikers lived up to their top billing.
Frances Molina backed up Manabat with seven points, Aby Maraño contributed six and team captain Maica Morada added five points for the Blaze Spikers. Petron hardly missed Rachel Daquis, who joined her PLDT touring team in Iloilo City.
Myla Pablo led the Lady Slammers with 13 points but it was obvious the new team was still groping for form. Desiree Dadang chipped in eight for Philips Gold.
Patty Jane Orendain delivered 18 points and Nicole Tiamson had 14 to power the Tornadoes to a victory over the HD Spikers.
